Travelling with Children: Child Seats and Safety in Transfers
Travelling with children calls for planning, and the airport transfer is an important part of that plan. The right seat and a few small preparations make the journey both safe and calm.
Choosing a seat by age and weight
Child seats are grouped by age and weight: infant carriers for babies, seats with five-point harnesses for toddlers, and booster seats for older children. If you are unsure which group fits, simply share your child's age and weight when booking.
What to mention when booking
Always request the child seat in advance; having it fitted and ready in the vehicle saves time at the airport. If you are bringing your own seat or a pushchair, mention that too so boot space can be planned accordingly. Travelling with more than one child? Do not hesitate to ask for a separate seat for each of them.
Small preparations that help
Children can be tired after a flight, so keep water, a small snack and a favourite toy in your hand luggage. On longer transfers, for instance towards Alanya or Kaş, you can discuss a short break with the driver. Making sure the air conditioning does not blow directly on the child is another small but useful detail.
